Perimeter Protection

Perimeter protection is normally found surrounding museums, galleries, government buildings and other places of national importance. However this isn’t to mean that houses can’t have it too. Perimeter protection is perhaps one of the most effective forms of security as it allows notification of trespassing at a much earlier stage than any other. This is how it works…

Perimeter Protection is a series of sensors and sometimes mirrors and lasers that are set up to cover all possible entry and exit points on a property. Once the system is set, it will go off if anyone of the sensors is triggered by movement. This can be set very lightly, or more robustly.

Perimeter Protection can also be split into two types, the grounds and the building. If on the grounds, then the system is set to cover all walls, fences and gates, as well as the roof. This type of perimeter protection is why you can set it for heavier movements as you will otherwise have the alarm going off every time a squirrel runs across the top of a wall. If the system is set on the building, you can make it a lighter system, picking up anything and everything. All windows and doors would be included in this system.
