Fencing

Fencing is a good form of security to combine with an alarm. Why on earth would you make trespassing or worse easier, by having no form of barrier between you and/or your possessions to a thief?

There are a variety of different types of fencing and each one has advantages and disadvantages depending on your needs.

Metal (topped with barbed wire/equivalent): Metal fencing is good for security as it is flimsier and therefore harder to climb. It will not support body weight easily and if topped with barbed wire or an equivalent, presents a real threat to anyone thinking of climbing over. You could even run an electric charge through if you so chose. The downside is that it lacks style and whilst effective can look cheap. However if you’re after good security fencing and don’t mind about the look, this is our best option. It comes in various heights too, starting at 8 ft.

Wood (topped with barbed wire/equivalent): Wood fencing is very solid and perhaps more intimidating to look at. This too can be topped with barbed wire or an equivalent. However, it is perhaps easier to climb and easier to destroy than a metal fence. If you are after a fence to dissuade would-be burglars rather than stop them in their tracks, wood fencing is the answer.
